i am useless with names, animals orhumans alike...fortunately only had the chance to put my word in human name for my little sister ...now 28 yo and did not get picked (fortunately for her)

my dogs are called F'glio'. meaning girl in my language: simple!

the black one is called: the black one (La Neur)

the one with the funny mask on her face is called Mashcarella (little mask)

Fudge's name was given to her by her holders

and Iuzzella (Antonietta, in my language...the feminine version of Anthony) is called that way because my dad once she saw her in a videocall shouted: I want that one! before getting the the killer look from my mother and changed his mind...and my dad is called Antonio (Anthony)

hope i did not forget anyone!

:)

best

My old GSd was called Ben -human name
the 2 akita dogs we have now - Kia the female but I added Mia so she become Kia-Mia half human and half non human name
brewster come with his name - old traditional english name
the cat's
are Jack -from captain jack sparrow
Jeremy he come with the name but suited him so well so we did not changed
daisy -she come with her name and we liked ...
tiger -she is a tabby cat looks like a miniature tiger x with a pig lol -non human obviously
mickey -I give him his name , we found him wondering around and the moment I saw him I knew will be perfect and it is ...
and Aku - he come with the name from a friend of mine , we liked the name and we decide to keep it . Aku it is an old japanese character (a devil ) ... so there you go our names

Also our old GSD used to be called BJ ( Ben J-our sure name )

Lotty and Sophie already had their names, and i didn't want to confuse them by changing them. An i gave Riley her name after my gran, that was her last name, as she meant allot to me.

But generally i call an animal what it looks like, the cats are called spice, tiggy and shara. So no human names there ;)

my last dog was a black lab and we called him Bruno after Frank Bruno because he was big, black and British just like Frank (know what i mean Harry!!). Cassie is sort of named after my mother (Catherine) but her 3 older brothers called her Cass.:D

All of my dogs have human names :)

Sophie, Tilly and Louie's names i picked myself.
Toby came with his name. I wanted to change it because it is very common and my sisters has a dog named Toby, but he responds to it so it stayed.
He is nicknamed TJ for Toby Junior.

im not too sure what happed to our dogs names but Ace was supposed to be either sam or zak and Akira was supposed to be Sacha  but when we got them it didnt sound quite right, we went from human names to doggie ones lol, although Akira in japanese is a boys name  poor girl lol

My dogs have always had non human names (Bodger and Chance), Henrick was named after his daddy who is a swedish import, (I assume Henrick is a swedish name) we started calling him Henrick before we got him and it sort of stuck and he became Henrick.

When I get a dog I'm calling him Jeffery. I was in an exam and finished early got really bored and drew a (very bad) picture of a dog and wrote down that he was called Jeffery and that the examiner had to be nice to him.
Ever since I just really wanted to call my dog Jeffery. But I've got names picked for all future dogs.

Jeffery (after Jeff Bridges) probably the Cairn
Sheridon (out of Babylon 5) probably Lukes wire hair JRT
Agathon (Battlestar Galactica) probably the Pug.

I prefer our dogs to have 'human' names.
Cassie was nearly named Lola. I just couldn't get myself to do it =X
Ellie came with the name. I don't personally like the name Ellie but she knew it and it was as if nothing else fitted her! Strange really =)
Misite. . . it was just a named my husband & I liked but knew we'd never call our kid that or anything! We wanted to keep the spelling the same as the others, too =)

It's not to say in future we won't have non human names though!

Both my dogs already had their names.

My terrier is "Cleo" which isn't that human.

My greyhound is "Molly" which is very human!!

I chose not to change their names as they were used to the ones they had.

I like unusual name, well as unusual as possible lol.
Dalton is from a film, but also a surname.
Kane my daughter chose the name, but suits him perfectly.
Liberty aka Libby, born 4th july, and wanted something to fit that period, but again suits her so im told lol
I didnt want names that said GSD or BC when you said them, as to me anyway certain names i automatically think Yeh GSD etc.

Hi
Well we went for Oscar, Bella and Mavis

Bella came with hers and we couldnt think of anything that suited her better.. Oscar we chose - it just fit and when Mavis came to us she was Daisy and it just didnt suit her ... Mavis just sprang into my head and she responded to it straight away so it fit

I actually quite like human names for animals .. but i think it comes down tot he dog and what he / she suits :)

I think some human names suit animals well and other don't, I tend to prefer older and more unique names with dogs, but i think part of the fun is that you can call a dog cookie whereas your unlikely to name your child it. It can be a bit awkward if the dog has the same name as a family or friend too, my uncles dog had the same name as me so was a bit confusing at times.

Hector while a human name isn't really used much these days, i like it but he came named. Throp was apparently named after his breeders friend, its generally a surname. They are part of their race names and they responded to them so i kept them.
