I think some human names suit animals well and other don't, I tend to prefer older and more unique names with dogs, but i think part of the fun is that you can call a dog cookie whereas your unlikely to name your child it. It can be a bit awkward if the dog has the same name as a family or friend too, my uncles dog had the same name as me so was a bit confusing at times.

Hector while a human name isn't really used much these days, i like it but he came named. Throp was apparently named after his breeders friend, its generally a surname. They are part of their race names and they responded to them so i kept them.
