Kenya has figured out how to push doors open if they're mostly shut and can open doors with a lever. lol

Thankfully no! I can only imagine the havoc she would cause if she could!

She does push doors open if they're not completely shut so I always make sure doors 'latch'. She's too little to reach door handles though

My brother has a baby gate in his hall that swings back and forth a few times when you go through it. Kenzie's figured out that if she times it right she can run through as it swings and go and visit whoever's gone to the toilet :p

Ferdie can open every door in the house, including the main front door if he has a mind to - all except one cupboard door with a horrible knob handle that even I have trouble opening. I hate the thing but I keep the dog food and bin in there out of Ferdie's way.

I didn't know he could also open the side gate until some teenage boys brought him and Joshua back on their way to school, bless them! Now it stays padlocked.

Nope! RUsty can't push a door or do it from the other way. It's quite amusing as if you are in a room and the door is slightly pulled too you have two cats and a dog all waiting for you to slightly push the door open for them!

My previous Springer used to sleep in my room and I liked the door to be shut... however, I did not like opening it for her if you wanted a drink in the middle of the night! So I attached a dressing gown cord to the handle and she learnt to pull that to open the door. She was a clever girly.

We have little bolts on all doors in the cottage. A previous dog Vasey a X GSD could open most doors hence the bolts. The only one she never managed was a sliding door between reception and the kennels. The little blind beagle Lady however could do that one. Unfortunately both are no longer with us. Now we have Treacle who again can open doors. Luckily Treacle is the only one big enough to reach. If a door is slightly open but not enough to walk through our GSD Sol wont push it open with his head like the others do but will sit and cry and wait for me to open it further, the big woofter.

Bo has been opening levered doors since she was about 6 months old. Actually it drives me nuts as to contain her, she need to be locked in rather than just the door shut.

Tilly is too small to reach and I don't think it would ever occur to Dexter to do such a thing. He waits to be told rather than uses his own initiative, like Bo does.

Fortunately our doors are too heavy for her to open and we have baby gates to prevent her getting upstairs. However, she can open the two slide latches on her crate if she wants to  but luckily likes being in there :p

Oh yes. We discourage it as it has caused us some concerns in the past.

We were looking after someones Collie years ago, we couldn't find him anywhere, we have a largish bungalow and a big garden so we went everywhere looking for him. We spent about 20 minutes calling him, no avail. Eventually my husband decided he must have got out somewhere, but we didn't know where, all boundaries are secure. He got into the car and started to drive around. He returned home about an hour later, empty handed.

While we were standing dithering about the what if's and why's, we heard a very small noise coming from the dining room. We opened the door and there he was. He'd opened the door and shut it behind him. Boy, we've never been so pleased to see a dog before or since!

We now have security locks on all doors, I could not go through that ever again.

One of our Rotties opened the back door and ran down the garden to come and play with me and a customer, with her dog. Very disconcerting when you see two Rotties running towards you, full pelt with excitement and saliva flung from every corner of their mouths. No animal was harmed.:D

Kodi can open every door in the house, luckily he knows the time of day when its time to end his games so he doesnt open them at night and come and pay me a visit. Hes a clever boy.

Funniest experience i had was visiting a neighbour and their lab opened their front door. Owner came out a minute or two later wondering why i was still standing on the porch playing with their dog if i already thought i had the right to open their door. It wasnt me it was the dog! :p

Quinny can open a dog crate from the outside (as we found out the last time Xia was in season - thankfully he did it for the first time while we were right there and we padlocked it after that :p ) He can also open the child gate - it's the kind where you have to press a lever down to secure it and he has found out how to get his paw and nose under the lever and lift it.

Bailey can open doors but only ever does it if something really exciting is happening, it's adorable to watch, he jumps up, puts his nose between the door and handle and pushes it down.

So now all doors have little bolts on just in case lol.

No not even if they are open a bit and just need a push - unless he really wants in. He just sits at the other side of the door and gives you puppy dog eyes when you appear

That being said when I was in my last house Sonny learned that the doors had a weak catch and just needed a push to open so he could open most of the doors in that house.

opie can let his self back in from the garden with the lever on the back door. he even managed to open it from the inside once so now lock it if we need to keep him in.

All of them (even little Wybie is having a go) can push open a door if it's not shut properly and opens outwards. Arnie and Fitz can open a door towards them if it's not shut properly and they can get a paw or nose in the gap.

Arnie has also learned to bump doors that open inward as we've had some in the past that don't quite latch properly and he could bounce them open enough to get a paw in. He can use the handle to open doors that are shut properly and open outwards as well

Even certain kinds of drawers aren't safe from Arnie but thankfully these days he's lazy enough not to bother!!
