If you are interested in world's best, I'd get cats best first, as they are almost identical and cats best is much cheaper! I think this would save you money as you just need to scoop the poos and the clumps of wee regularly and not change the whole tray for weeks! Saves loadsa money!!

There you go. I think I change my tray about every 4-6 weeks! Just fill it deeply to begin with, and when I've been scooping for weeks and the level of litter if quite low, I just chuck the lot out and clean the trays and refill.

 

Thankyou will order some today.

Will try a big bag and see how it lasts etc. Sound so much easier tha totally emptying them daily, it takes over half hour and I scrub the trays once weekly.

I've heard that Chick Crumb is pretty much the same thing as World's Best, and is a fraction of the cost of any other litter! It tracks horribly though. You should be able to buy that in massive great bags, so might be worth looking into

 

Have you considered lining the bottom of the litter trays with newspaper? You can then get away with using a lot less cat litter. With 18 cats (unless you can guarantee they each only use their own designated tray) it isn't a good idea to try and get away without clearing the trays out completely at least twice a week.

 

Tesco lightweight (the pink and yellow pack) - I find it unbeatable. I used to use wood litter but this is so much better.

We did line the trays with paper, but it seems to soak up the cat urine and smell. Then we tried the plastic litter liners but they used to rip holes in them and create such a mess!

I will try the oko plus for a week and see. Otherwise back to the good old woodbased.

I used to use a clay litter with litter liners and or newspaper at the bottom. Made so much mess! My kitten absolutely ripped the paper and liner to shreds, he would used to pull all the corners together into the middle so it was like a parcel. Not practical when he needed to go again later!

 

We use the Oko plus and have 5 cats - last for ages and hardly any smell. it does track though but I still wouldn't change it for anything else. Just paid £26.99 for a 40ltr bag and it will last for ages!
