I was so shocked too! If a terrible accident - i do not know how you could live with that? Would be devastating.

Then the police woman earlier saying there had been previous domestic incidents - that could be anything of course.

I just feel it is going to be one of those stories that sadly things are going to come out that reveal him as being a different kind of person than we see in public. Just my thoughts though.

I was so shocked first thing and I am still in shock now.

They said it wasn't an accident because he thought her an intruder and she had been there all night apparently. Also, four times too!!:( At close range.

The neighbours have reported unusual noise in the lead up to gunshots too.

 shocked!

It is a little dodgy though! :001_unsure: surly if you thought that there was an intruder, and you was going to shoot them you'd shoot them once, twice max! Shooting that many times seems a little OTT.

RIP Reeva. :(
Yep, agree, it would not be easy to shoot someone with such accuracy so many times in the head IN THE DARK. What a terrible thing, so awful for her family, altho at present all the focus is on him. Poor girl, poor parents.

It's so awful. I got upset this morning reading sky news- they were on about how awful it is for him, how damaging for his career, how he'll pull through. Barely anything about the poor girl or her family. They changed their story once they learnt he was arrested for murder

well..he seemed alwyas a bit odd to me...and there was some trouble before?
Some domestic incident at his address, but it need not necessarily have been with this g/f. Could have been with a former g/f or family visiting. We mustn't jump to conclusions, altho I read a neighbour said there was shouting and screams at 4am befire the incident. Could have been from some other house/TV I guess.

Unfortunately things like this happen when people are so up themselves they think they can get away with anything.
True, but SA is now such a violent place to live that most people have a gun. I know a SA guy here, his two sisters are now here and they are trying to convince their retired parents to sell the farm and leave. They are over now and looking at places to live in France. SA is not safe.

I have no feelings for Oscar I hope he gets what he deserves if he has shot her. My thoughts are with the girls family, what a pretty women she was.

ETA :: I saw the side of Oscar I dont at London 2012 when he was so mad he was beaten.

My personal thoughts are it's all very suspicious, and my thoughts are very much with the families effected by this tragedy.
Yes Oscar appears to have a temper as shown by his reaction to the race you mention - however there were a lot of other athletes who reacted equally badly to being beaten.

I think we'll get some more info tomorrow once charges are officially made by the SA authorities.

My thoughts are with her family and Oscars but not Oscar himself. I think that temper was his darker side. The side none of us knew about. It will be interesting to see what is said tomorrow.

I haven't actually read anything about it yet, but the intruder story doesn't wash with me, surely you would look before you shot someone? You wouldn't just shoot someone 4 times at close range without noticing that it is your girlfriend!

Maybe I am wrong and maybe he was truly mistaken but TBH I don't believe a word he says!

It's all speculation though isn't it, he's the only one who really knows what happened.

I didn't like his reaction at the Paralympics either but being frustrated at a perceived unfairness is hardly grounds for thinking someone is guilty of murder. I didn't see it as a 'darker' side just poor sportsmanship.

Being arrested for murder doesn't make you guilty either. I will always stick by innocent until proven guilty, whoever it is.

We won't really know much more except speculation if and when there is a trial.

My sympathies are with the families involved.

He apparently lives in one of the most safest places in SA.....
His estate is also apparently heavily guarded , Via security guards/Dogs /cctv ...

Innocent till proven guilty absolutely .....

But something is'nt sitting right with me .

But that's just my opinion ...

RIP Reeva ..... sympathy and condolences to her family and friends ...
