we use mutleys in my works grooming parlour..they do loads of different colognes as well, mungo boss made by hugo boss,c canine by calvin kelin..they all smell gorge....

 

There's a coconut oil spray that Superdrug etc sell that a few people I know with TTs use. I got it for Blu when his coat was changing and was good

Oooh I've not seen that one. If you use it in the grooming parlour is it a professional make that you can only get through them, abit like some of the human hair products you can only get in salons?

I'm currently using dezyna dog amazing trix grooming and detangling spray. Have found it the best so far for my pooch as it makes getting the matts and tangles out much easier. I have found that some of the others I've tried tend to weigh the hair down a bit.

It also smells lush

It's in the haircare part. They do shampoo etc for it too. His coat absorbed it up so no grease.

This is interesting, Flo's big boy coat is coming in and I'm struggling to keep on top of it! Can you use the shampoo? I don't really know the difference between doggy shampoo's and human shampoo's..? I've used Johnson's baby before when I ran out of Flo's stuff.

My Daisy's coat is very thick and tangles within hours!!!
All my girls are bathed every week or fortnightly (if I can get away with it!)
It is really important that you use a good shampoo and conditioner, When you put the conditioner on make sure you leave it on for a good 5/8 mins.
Stick to the same ranges for shampoo/conditioner as all brands have different PH levels, same goes with the grooming sprays.

I use Groom Professional range from Christies Direct.

My Daisy too tangles after only a few hours. It's a never ending battle to keep her knot free

Some of the silicone based products apparantly work better if you apply hot hair from a hair drier first (changes the viscosity of the silicone or something)

 

I'm also looking for a grooming spray for my sheltie - any recommendations?

I read in this great sheltie blog that for shelties grooming I should brush the hair of the belly with the grain. Is it true? Anyway, it has some lovely pictures of shelties.

 

I use "Groomers" groom and detangle spray, £4.99 from Pets @ Home it works really well on Dillons very long hair.

 

I use Crown Royale as it's detangling properties are fab on my Lhasa's. I also love the smell which lasts and lasts.

 

i use "Iv San Bernard" PEK. its the best staff i ever used. easy to brush all the knots out. its really good for different coat types and also i use it as conditioner as well.

 

I also use groomers groom and detangle spray and I really like it as it smells nice and really makes Dexter's fur soft and tangle free.

I haven't tried any others but I would recommend this one

 

Elsie (profile picture) matts very easily we tried a few doggie products but found a small amount of fragrance free no tears baby conditioner worked well rubbed into the matts while she is having a bath, rinsed well, left to dry naturally she comes out fluffy and mostly matt free, any matts are very easy to remove/brush once conditioned.
That said all dog breeds/coats skins are different.

 

i use Wahl detangler and grooming spray. has a nice smell to it.

 

The Furminator Detangling waterless spray is also a good one. Its not greasy and is made from Papaya extract and Oatmeal, so quite a natural product. I have this product, plus loads more grooming products in my online store if you want to take a look.

 

Tropiclean dematter is an excellent conditioner/detangler can also be bought in large/small quantity leaves the hair feeling soft and really silky.
