Hi my son has allergies to certain dogs, we are looking to get a sproodle from this litter I was wondering if anyone on here with knowledge could tell me if they look like they have more of the poodle's low moulting coat. Any help would be appreciated.

It's not necessarily the coat that triggers allergies but the dander and saliva. He would really need to spend some time with the dog to see if he was allergic.

Assuming it is hair that triggers his allergies there is absolutely no way of telling if a crossbreed will have a shedding coat. Far better to go for a pure non shedding breed such as a poodle. I assume the cross you are talking about is a springer cross poodle. I would imagine most of them will be totally bonkers and could grow up looking like anything.

Do not listen to what the breeder says. Unfortunately there are a lot of breeders saying that their cross breeds are non shedding. By the time they get to a few months old and are covering the house in hair most new owners are so in love with their dog they just buy a new hoover.

I have a rescue labradoodle, who is 3/4 poodle and has a really curly, poodle-like coat (she looks almost pure poodle). Yet she sheds far worse than any of my other dogs, including my pure bred labrador (and they shed ALOT!) :Hilarious Doodles are lovely dogs, but also can be quite a handful - many are high energy and demanding characters with very high maintenance coats (most of which shed heavily as I mentioned). I love them, but then I like bright, active dogs as I do alot of training and dog sports, but many doodles dont do well in a low energy pet home environment and lots tragically end up in rescue at a young age because of this. If you are seriously considering a doodle, please do your research - why not also contact the doodle specific rescue charities who can give you lots of information, and may even have the perfect dog-match waiting for you? :)
