(Stole this idea from the cat chat but it looked really fun so... :Bag:p)

(Not sure if we have one of these threads already but-) Ever wanted to make a new thread on random doggy stuff but felt it didn't belong in a thread?
I'll start -
A few days ago on our walk, Cookie managed to roll herself in loaaads of mud, and then decided to run up to everybody we passed in the woods and ask for a cuddle! :Arghh I put her lead on after a while because it was getting too embarrassing :p It took ages to wash it all off afterwards too!

This morning I took her to Pets@Homes and bought her some food that we haven't tried before - it looks quite good and she likes the chicken. Has anyone tried it? It's called Natures Menu Adult - Here's what it looks like-

Also Bonus photo of a big stick she found this morning :D

Wow @Arny that's a huge difference on Tilly's neck, that's great stuff!

@Teddy-dog when I look at the map I see a dog who keeps running back to see if you're around. So that's good - he does care about where you are enough to keep his squirrel hunting to your general area :)
And good, good girl Pixel!

Penny has been off all week since XC is over, she's been a total pest and when I take her out to run in the woods she's super clingy and won't go off and sniff and explore. Of course the latter could be that the coyotes have been more active and she's just being smart...

Have found a wet food that the picky prince Jasper will reliably eat and with gusto - MjamMjam. Of course it had to be a random expensive German brand that’s not widely available (although I bought it on a whim from Amazon where it was being promoted so hopefully they’ll keep selling it).
I’ve tried him with a variety of wet foods before from Winalot pouches in gravy (cheap but prior to this the one he liked best which wasn’t saying much) to Lily’s Kitchen (££) and various in between and at best he’ll pick at them, maybe accept it once or twice but not again. He’s like a cat. The only thing is I’d taken to putting out his leftovers for the magpies as I hate just throwing food away and lately there hasn’t been any. Was sitting outside with Jasper just now and look up to see I’m being watched by one of ‘my’ magpies (I love them, they’re my favourite bird) who was right there on the wall so I went in and opened a pouch of Winalot which I’ve just put out for her 😂

Not posted here before, don’t know why I find long running threads so daunting to butt in on haha

Ha ha I bet he slept well last night

Alfie has been gone that long before when he went after deer
He did!
deer worry me as they run and run! Silly dogs

Thank god you’ve got the tracker for ted and not needing to worry about roads.

Don’t worry Tilly I’ll hoover around you.

Tilly’s neck was getting gross, her dewlaps are getting more saggy in old age.
Saw leucillin mentioned a few times on here, if that’s what’s helped it’s pretty amazing.
A few weeks apart.

I know, I always say I don’t want to have to use the tracker (if that makes sense), I’d rather he was just well behaved! But im very glad I got one as a just in case!

Her neck looks loads better! Bless her, bet she feels better for it to

Oh dear! After this I'm not sure I should be posting about the Schnauzer boys!

Yesterday, one of the local workmen spent the day cutting my grass and chopping logs for me. The boys were outside and unusually for them being very suspiciously quiet. I didn't think much about it until I went outside to hang out some washing and out of the corner of my eye caught a glimpse of a white tail disappearing through the front gate.

The silly man had forgotten to close the gate!

Rushed into the house grabbed a lead and a handful of treats, rushed out again, through the front gate to see Grisha happily sniffing his way down the lane. I called him and to my amazement the little sweetheart turned round and came running back to me. I then spotted Gwylim who for some reason was sitting on the path. When he saw me he got up and came racing back to greet me like a long lost cousin.

So proud of my little horrors!
Awww what good boys!! That’s always a relief when they haven’t gone far and are quite happy to come back!

haha that’s true! he does seem to care about staying around I just wish I didn’t have to wait for him to decide to come back. He’s been really good recently so I thought we might’ve cracked it but obviously not 🤣
Pixel is turning into a good girl (as long as that doesn’t jinx it ha!). A squirrel jumped down a tree and ran in front of her the other day and she just watched it. She has chased them before but I’m glad she doesn’t have the same prey drive as Ted!

aww she’s a smart girl! Bet it’s the coyotes!

I've got a little greedy-guts this morning :ROFLMAO:

When Bungo went to the vets on Wednesday he came home with a tin of digestive care/recovery food, which I was to feed little and often over 24 hours, this morning back to normal food, not thinking I put his daily ration in the kong wobbler as always (he normally eats some straight away, then finishes it off late afternoon), but today he ate the lot within about 10 minutes!
Thankfully no ill effects.

Why is it that when I make a conscious decision to save the dogs make a conscious decision to cost me money? :(
Earlier this month it was Hannah needing allergy meds and now Heidi has refused to eat for nearly 2 days and so its off to the vets tomorrow and Im thinking a very expensive dental.
I would def not have multiple dogs again...I cant afford it!

I'd absolutely love another greyhound, they are addictive, but unfortunately I can't afford another.

At the dog cafe a couple came in with a large dog and they went to sit close to a lady that was already sat down even though there were lots of spare seats. I was relieved I wasn’t any closer as both dogs reacted. The woman sat down couldn’t move and the other one stood there struggling to hold her dog from getting any closer. The woman sat down then said, “Get it away from my dog.” She was furious and shouted back, “He’s not an it” and her friend called the dog of the woman sat down “A rat dog.” Thankfully they left after that as it was obvious no one else was happy about what was going on. It was bizarre as the normal reaction would be to move away as soon as possible.

When we did go to these sort of "dog friendly" places we always sat as far away as possible from any source of aggravation, selecting carefully the perfect spot. It's just too stressful trying to anticipate the actions of other users whilst trying to enjoy a peaceful coffee, that we too have given up trying.

Had a nice surprise in PAH today, Black Friday sale, Dan's treat spikes were on offer usually £6 down to £4.20! I bought 3 packs, and also treated him to a snuffle ball that also had a good discount. I had to show him where the treats were, but he seems to like it.... Loads of stuff on offer though so worth a look if you need pet supplies.

Thanks both. I used to get Rocco on occasion for Gelly although he was the sort who’d wolf down anything so appealing to a fussy eater didn’t come into it haha. Probably quite similar to the MjamMjam in terms of ingredients and texture so worth a try. If he really likes it the 300g trays should work out fine, there’s no waste from the 200g tins of MjamMjam, if not it’ll be feeding the magpies again. The Animonda vom Feinstein looks ideal too @Magyarmum especially with the small servings.

Poor Zak hasn't been himself today. He didn't wake us this morning but OH got up anyway at 5.30 and said he vomited a bit of bile. He ate bf ok I took him on his walk and he did that awful yellow mucus poo. He usually sleeps after a walk but didn't, just either walked around or stood in front of me looking miserable. When he went to bed he didn't go to sleep like usual, lay with his eye's open. Appetite is fine and he isn't crying or pacing. I gave him a prebiotic paste and OH said his poo was soft but not bad on his last walk today. It seems to be every so often that he gets tummy problems. The paste seems to sort it. Thankfully.
