I've met some dog owners with an extremely strict regime for breakfast, walks and dinner - I've also met other owners (and dogs) who are extremely relaxed. I was just curious what your daily routines are, and (if you do stick to a tight schedule) whether your dog notices/minds when things don't go to plan! E.g. if breakfast is an hour late. I understand that most people's routines are based on work - but what about weekends/evenings/holidays?
I don't have a dog at the moment, but will hopefully be adding a rescue to the family in August/September. Our 3 family dogs are used to a very regular routine and they start whining about an hour before breakfast/dinner, and parents always make sure that they're back on the dot for feeding/walks. On the other hand, I regularly dog/house-sit for a family whose retriever is the most relaxed dude on the planet! Happily sleeps in until you wake him up, not too fussed about having his breakfast right away, and picks at his dinner rather than wolfing it down at a certain time. Just wondering how much of this is down to the individual dog, and how much of it is down to the effect of a schedule?
