Does she whine and cry as soon as she is left for the night or is she waking up and crying?

If she's waking up then she could need the toilet, Do you take her out in the night?

It could just be that its too silent during the night? she is still young and needs to get used to how things are at your home, unfortunately |I know its difficult but as long as she is in a safe environment, has pooed and peed before she goes to bed, and has maybe a kong stuffed to occupy her when she is awake, its best to ignor her, because EVERY time you go to her its rewarding her for this behaviour. its a bit like a salesman, he may knock on your door twice, and gets no response so he does it 4 times, gets no respons tries it 5 times gets the response he wants, he then knows next time that you will not answer the door and the 1st knock but if he continues eventually he will get you to answer. same sort of principle apples here.

hi yes i take her ot 2 or 3 times a night she start as soon as im about to shut the door for the night
Sounds like she is just lonely then.

Can you go out the room and shut the door during the day with out her getting upset?

I would get her used to being in the room alone for a few minutes at a time during the day - when you pop for a shower etc.

That might help her during the night.

You basically have 2 choices - niether is right or wrong, it's just a case of which one suits you better.

You can ignore her - speak to the neighbours maybe take them a nice bottle of wine for being understanding, and she should learn to settle.

Or try the crate again, only this time put it next to your bed (don't worry she won't be sleeping there long) if she crys just put your hand down so she knows your there - don't talk.
Once she is settled all night without any reasurrance from you, move the crate to the bottom of the bed, then move the crate to the room she wants to sleep and as she grows you can remove the crate altogether. If she really hates the crate then do the same with her bed but you'll have to keep returning her to her bed if she wonders off in your room.

If you do decide to try the second method, get her used to the crate during the day, put her bed in it, leave the door open, when she falls asleep pick her up and put her in, give her something yummy to eat in it etc.

I'd get her used to a crate, then put it in your room at night, see if that works.

Once she's sleeping better (and hopefully letting you sleep better too!) you can start gradually moving the crate towards the room you want her to sleep in. If at any stage she reverts to being noisy try ignoring it for a night and see how she is for the second night. If she's still noisy, you've moved the crate too far at once.

Let us know how you get on! I'm sure she will grow out of it with your help, you sound like you're doing all the right things :) Good luck!

PS - If she's one that likes the sound of her voice there must be some training you can do (teaching her to answer 'what's 5+2?' with 7 barks for example - takes time!) to help her channel it into something more useful to her like earning food rewards.

When you leave her, what state is she in ?
If she's wide awake and alert then she's going to whine as she's not been settled. If you are staying with her until she's totally relaxed, laying down with head down too, then maybe something is disturbing her.

I seriously suggest that if she's been out and done her jobbies, hasn't had anything to eat for a few hours, then just ignore it. She could be just whining for attention, in which case, if you keep checking her, she'll not grow out of it and you'll end up with a dog that has to sleep next to your bed and end up being the boss of you  Not sure if you really want that with a dog of this size :blushing:

This is excellent advice and I second it!!! Good luck! :D
