Laughter is the best medicine. I'll watch any sitcom . There's been hilarious US and UK ones and some stinkers.
Which non American ones do you like to watch ? :)

It's taking a beating for being non-PC
I think most programmes made before 2000 would be non PC :) The 70's On the Buses :Jawdrop Middle age men and Dolly birds :Vomit

I watched a re run of Fresh Prince recently :Hilarious but so sexist . :(

But Carlton :Kiss His dance, so joyous :Hilarious

It has been eye opening some of the things they did back then that was considered okay even 30 years ago (gawd has it been that long?!)
Has made for some very good conversations with teenagers in this house though, conversations about how society evolves and changes. It's all good :)

I've never seen it

I remember when I was about 11 or 12 all the girls in my year at school were going on about (a) Friends and (B) The Simpsons and I had no idea what they were talking about as I was never allowed to see either.

Might give it a go.....
I was never keen On the Simpsons , I hardly watched it though more recently I've watched a few episodes .

I miss sitcoms in general clever writing, decent acting, instead of all this reality TV crap that makes people famous for being idiots or arseholes or both.

Will and Grace was another 90s sitcom, totally not PC but totally hilarious.
And M.A.S.H! Anyone remember that one? Great show, great writing, great acting....
Cheers was another good one

I love that show! I find it weird to think that the majority of episodes are older than me though  and the entire series is older than my sisters!

For those who like the show, there's a comedy on E4 called Baby Daddy which is pretty cool - it's similar, yet different but equally as funny!
yeah Baby Daddy :Hilarious I watch most of the E4 sitcoms.

The Inbetweeners , still laugh at that . The visit to Thorpe park :Hilarious
I'm really mad at the BBC for dropping BBC 3 from Freeview . Bad Education and Some Girls hilarious too .
Do these comedies pass the PC test ? I'm not so sure :D

I love Friends, it rolls round continually on Comedy Central. I can watch the same episode 3-4 times and still find it funny. Frasier's the same, quite witty really.

I love Friends! I watched them all on Netflix recently :D Still made me giggle... I don't get that from a lot of American sitcoms anymore. I think it was better made.

Though... my OH did point out that Phoebe is basically pointless in the first season! I never noticed it before but when he said that I did! She doesn't really do much but one liners and doesn't have any major storylines!

Any Brooklyn Nine Nine fans here? Actually something that woke teens would approve of in that it has progressive and diverse plots and characters, but that's by the by, it is incredibly funny and well acted in its own right. Was just recently saved from cancellation - BINGPOT.

Oh yay, my people. I live for the Doug Judy episodes, myself (I will never be able to hear the name Rosa again without thinking 'Rosa Rosa Roosa... RooOoosa')

Black Books is my absolute favourite of all time @PawsOnMe (see sig). Love all of Graham Linehan's stuff but Black Books most of all. In fact I'm long overdue a rewatch.

I can't see signatures for some reason :( love Doug and Jake's frenemy relationship xD when they're doing karaoke :Hilarious
That episode kills me, it's perfection. Moss behind the bar, deadpan - 'Yes, miss?'. How is that so funny? It is though.
It's such a good episode, Roy's face when he's on the lift in the wheelchair gets me everytime .:Hilarious

Friends is just the best ever!

OH and I sleep with the tv on and it's usually either Friends or The Big Bang Theory playing in the background all night. Nothing better than something lighthearted and funny to listen to while I fall asleep, especially if I'm feeling anxious or my mind is working overtime.

The only downside is when I know there's a particularly funny line coming up, I start giggling to myself before it's even been said :D

You spit on me man :Hilarious

@kimthecat I do like Friends, but the Fresh Prince is the winner for me!
I find Family Guy too stupid to watch these days. There are too many needless cut-away clips and they're always referencing things I've never heard of. The early episodes were quite good but they really ought to stop making it now. They should have killed it off years ago in my opinion. Same goes for The Simpsons: once a comedy great, now just a waste of airtime.
The Brits really are the champions when it comes to comedy; if you think otherwise you're a stupid boy who needs a damn good thrashing!

I used to like Fresh Prince, but now just the music coming on makes me cringe.

I agree about Family guy though, at first it was inspired, but the referencing also does me in. Still think the characters are good though.

Absolutely loved Stewie and Brian.

I do agree with this! I love Friends, and I liked the early Big bang theory's but I do find a lot of American sitcoms a bit too American (sorry!), if that even makes sense. If I had a choice I would probably pick a British comedy to watch. I.T Crowd is hilarious, we recently watched Peep show again too. I think Brits know (mostly) when to end a show too! We only get a few series out of our comedies nowadays, but America ones seem to go on and on and recycle a lot of the same stuff.

Theres a load more i watch and some repeatedly . Everybody loves raymond, Rules of engagement , how I met your mother , Two broke girls.
One I really like and I can't remember the name of it . About a Jewish family in the 80s , It written by a man who based it on his childhood and it has real films clips in it . I think he's called Adam . It's very funny and heartwarming .

It would be quicker to list the sitcoms I don't watch :D

Avid watchers of Friday night dinner . :D Wilson :(
The funniest episode was when Jim was electrocuted and Jackie gives him the kiss of life so he electrocuted himself again .

The US sitcoms are all shown on E4 or channel 4 :)

I second your list and would add Rising Damp and Only fools and horses.

That's the one ! Thanks :)

Did anyone watch the Friends spinoff Joey? I loved it and bought the first two seasons on dvd. I was gutted when they cancelled it :(

Some other favourites are New Girl, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, Cougar Town, Scrubs..
Yeah , Joey was really good . I think people were expecting another Friends . If it hadnt been a spin off i think it would have been popular. It was shame when it was cancelled.

Two and a half men , :Hilarious I watch that followed by Superstore in the evenings.
