Crushing Synulox tablets?

Hi all.
My Louis has got a water infection and the vet has prescribed Synulox tablets for a week. I’m having a bit of a nightmare trying to get him to have them as the tablets are pretty big! He’s been given 500mg tablets, three quarters of one twice a day. I’ve seen online that they do a palatable version but I don’t think that these are, they don’t say anything anywhere on the packaging.
Anyway, he’s getting too clever for his own good. I’ve broken the tablets into slightly smaller pieces but they’re still that big that he’s eating whatever I’m wrapping around them and then spitting the tablet out. Can I crush them and mix them in with some food? The vet never advised on this and I’ve only been given the blister packs so I’ve got no data sheet to check on either. My sister in law also suggested soaking them in warm water for a little bit to soften them too. Has anyone tried this or can anyone help with any suggestions.
xx

I find either pate (or doggy liver paste) or butter the best way to get tablets down them if you don't want to go with shoving it down their gob! Pate or paste is good cos you can completely cover the tablet in the pate and roll it into a ball and they just swallow it. Butter is also good as it covers the taste well and just slides down their throat before they have a chance to work out what's going on :Hilarious

I don't know about crushing but my dog takes a fairly big tablet and this is what I have found most successful.

First, without a tablet, feed two pieces of your chosen 'disguise' food in quick succession, one from each hand. The plan is to get him eager to get the second piece. Then, when you want to give the pill, put the pill in one piece and feed that with one hand while immediately offering the second. If you are lucky and your dog is like mine, he will be so keen to get the second treat he won't notice the food in the first.
