Hey, was looking at Spid's post about clumping cat litters, but couldn't see anything about silica cat litters.

Does anyone use MyPets Silica Cat litter? Any reviews?

Says its suppose to last a month. Is that a long time?

I have a new kitten currently asleep on my couch :) I have some of the brand of cat litter he used at his breeders, but wanted to change to a silica one, if it was good.

What is better clumping or non clumping? I have got non clumping at the moment.

I have used various brands of silica cat litter, and I think it is very good.
Smell absorbtion depents on how well your cat covers its poo, but it lasts over a week with me, sometimes as mucht as 2 wseeks, with 3 litter trays for 8 cats. All but 1 are outdoor, but if the weather is cold, wet or windy, or if they simply want to get back to bed with us, they will favour the litter tray.

So I am convinced the estimate of lasting a month for a single kitty is accurate.
I quite like it. The only thing is that one of my cats will scratch so violently that the crystals are scattered all over the place, whereas he will not launch as many wood pellets.

We use the silica litter sold at Home Bargains, which at ÂŁ2.29 per bag is very much a bargain!

I have 2 male kittens (that wee A LOT!) and an adult male cat. The litter does not smell at all and lasts really well. It gradually changes colour (from white to yellow) as it absorbs the urine and there is no moisture left in the tray at all. Our cats all cover their waste really well and it is easy to remove. There is no dust tracked over the floor but they do kick some bits on the floor as they leave the trays and I would suggest not standing on these in bare feet as it hurts :D

Thats the stuff I just bought loads of! With only one kitty, I think I have about 6 months cat litter stored up
