There was probably something on it that tasted good!

Cats often "pad" soft surfaces with their paws. This starts as kittens when they paw their mother's body for milk.

All of my cats do this, the eldest is 8 years old.

Totally normal.

 

My cat, who is nearly a year old, likes to climb on our tummys when we are asleep and knead us. I always tell my husband that he must be getting chubby if the cat hopes to get milk from his chest

 

my 16 month old cat kneads blankets, pillows, my dressing gown and various bits of me he does this mostly when he's relaxed and having some 'fussy time'. he might be the oldest of three, but he's a big baby what your kitten is doing is completely normal!!

 

I think of kneading a bit like thumb sucking - it's a habit that some kittens don't grow out of and it's a comfort thing

 

they do it when they are happy and content to, all mine do it

 

Spartacus jumps onto our bed and has a knead on our tums every night... she then does some headbutts and settles to sleep.

Its definitely a comfort thing.

 

Tilly does this also - even more so when i wear my dressing gown!
