Hi All

I am shortly going to be starting up my dog walking/pet sitting business.
I currently have a ford focus but this isnt big enough for two large cages so I need a new vehicle.
What vehicles do you use for transporting your dogs?
I would like to fit two large cages in the boot and then perhaps one dog on a harness on back seat. Will not be walking more than 3 at a time!

Thanks
Caz

A friend of mines got even more dogs then I have and shes got a Renault Kangoo in fact shes had two now and finds they are great for dogs and crates.

We have a Ford C max not the newest latest model, but we bought that because of the dogs, as its quite low for loading them in has head height and you can completely take the seats out easily enough you can take a few out or all the back seats and it even had black mesh pull up blinds in the back that was useful for the dogs. The air conditioning is good in it to keep them cool and the back windows are heavily tinted. Plus we got leather interior so its easy to keep clean and dog hair doesnt stick either. Basically a lot of the benefits of a van, but a functional family car as well and adaptable.

We use a Honda CRV. Got it second hand, and the reality is my wife is paying the insurance and loan payments until I get more clients.

In Australia we rarely use cages in the cars. You can get a wire barrier put up, but I get the dogs to all have harnesses and chain these to a chain inside of the car.

It is good to have a big car, but you need to be able to pay the payments (I use it 80% for business) it needs to be reliable, and you need to be able to clean it easily. I wish mine was more economical on fuel, but you compromise.

Hope that helps.

It depends if you need it to be a car aswell! I have a Peugeot Expert van which has been boarded out and set up for me by my Dad to accommodate up to 5 dogs! I have 2 cages in the back section with storage overhead and a middle section which is accessed via sliding side doors, with hooks to secure harnesses to for up to 3 dogs. I could fit 2 smaller cages in this middle area.
