Does anyone know of a decent weight/height chart that I can look up to see if my puppy is growing at the right rate. She has doubled her weight in the last 4 weeks from 2.5kg at 9 weeks to 5kg at nearly 13 weeks. She has obviously gone through a rapid growth period which I expect is normal, but how can I find out if she is the right weight for her height. She is a miniature x toy poodle but has taken more of the miniature side of her mum. I have not been feeding her the amount on the packet guidelines as I hold a bit back and I also let her come to me if she needs more and then I give her a little bit more and then she usually is happy, but it is never as much as the packet states. She is growing nicely but I think she may end up bigger than I was expecting. I assume if she has a rapid growth spurt then there will follow a slow spurt to even things out.

Stop stressing! There is no correct weight. Pups grow at different rates and will mature at different sizes and ideal weights. My two miniatures are 14 inches and 15 and a half inches at the shoulder. The smaller one is more solidly built therefore weighs a bit more. I go by feel not weight but when she is weighed at the vets when her weight is slightly more than it should be she is around 8.5 kgs but I think she is below 8 at the moment and looking good. The other one is less compact and leaner all over and I think she is normally under 8 kgs, she never goes to the vet apart from for vaccination and I cant really remember. She used to be dreadfully bony and the vet thought she was perfect but now she is 10 she has a little bit of covering.

Don't stress! It can be repaired when she is spayed. If it is small it can wait till she is old enough to spay.
