Stressed cat, please help

Our cat Precious is a rescue cat and we adopted her a few months ago.
We knew when we adopted her that she had had issues with cats and dogs in her previous home and due to this had been pulling her fur out so when she came to her new home she had bald patches where a vet had shaved the patches she had been pulling fur from. We were also told that she had to be the only cat in our household due to her previous problems.

She started showing signs of stress with over grooming several months after we adopted her so we bought a Feliway diffuser which seemed to help for a while but now she seems to be over grooming again so can the diffuser actually stop working for some cats.
She seems to over groom more when she sitting on any of my husbands clothing or in his desk chair but she seems perfectly happy around my husband the rest of the time and she loves cuddling up on my knee a lot. She shows loads of signs that she is happy except for the over grooming. Some of her fur is growing back in the bald patches but it is a slow process.
We have her booked in to see a vet as she needs her booster injections but I was wondering if anyone can give me anymore advice.
Thanks

Instead of the Feliway plug in you might want to try the Pet Remedy one. a lot of members here say it is a better option. Alternatively you could try a course of Zylkene - this is a natural calming supplement (I found it cheapest on Amazon) depending on your cat's body weight it's usually the contents of one capsule daily mixed in with their food. As it's a by product of milk most cats f ind it very palatable ! I've used it with a cat who was 'stress' spraying outside her litter box and it was very effective.
