Oriental - What colour eyes ?

Hi everyone,

New to Orientals

I'm alittle confused and was wondering if anybody can help me regarding Oriental cats.

I have been told by one breeder that Oriental cats should have green eyes only and that if they are blue they can have problems.

Is this true ?

I have just seen a beautiful oriental kitten who I want to buy. He has blue eyes, should I be worried ?

All kittens are born with blue eyes. Orientals (except foreign whites who have blue eyes) have green eyes. Around 8 weeks or so, and that varies between kittens, their blue eyes gradually change to green. A good oriental should have emerald green eyes, but sadly that is not often seen nowadays.
