My cat has been run over...but not found

hi there, might sound odd, but my gorgeous ginger tom who I love and adore has been missing over a week. There was a facebook post on the same day he went missing to say a lady had witnessed a cat (same description as mine) be hit and the driver drove off. ;-(

My cat comes home, all the time, sits with me, sleeps at the end of mine or my kids beds. It's out of character for him to not be here for any period of the day. So based on the info I have and based on the whereabouts and location of the incident I know this is my Tom.

Sadly, despite looking, he can't be found so I'll assume him to be dead in a bush somewhere. He'd be back by now, it wouldn't take him that long to make his way home. I've been told by my neighbour, that he's more than likely been taken away by foxes. Not a nice thing to be told, but one no doubt may be true

So now my kids want a dog - too scared the same thing will happen again x

Small world. I think you live near me, we are on the same 'Cat Lovers' FB group. I went to have a look for your cat the day of the facebook post but couldn't see any sign.

Have you made any leaflets? I find leaflets work better than posters. More time consuming but worth it as people have easy access to your number.

Did you check the grounds of the care home? It sounds like he was hit right outside there. Do the staff have your contact details?

I'll definitely keep an eye out.

I know it's not a nice thing to think about. But have you rang the council Desposal department. Just in case he was killed. You could try asking local vets in case he wasn't killed, or ask vets if you can put posters up and maybe jogging someone's memory. I really hope he wasn't killed, and you find him soon.
