Hi,

Meet Jax the super hyper Jack Russell who's 11 weeks old today.

When I picked him up 3 weeks ago his coat was pure white with a very small spot/patch near his rear (this was his first morning with us)

Today, just 3 weeks on he's starting to look half Jack Russell half Dalmatian! These little slightly faded brown spots have started popping up more and more and getting darker covering most of his back.

(just starting to show)

(Today)

Will he remain spotty like this or will these spots join up over time and turn into a full patch on his back? His Mum was pure white with a small brown patch over her face, his Dad was pretty much brown on top and white underneath.

Normally, if Jack Russells have patches of colour, they're born with them.

It isn't at all unusual for Jack Russells to develop a lot of spots. Many can look white, but when they're wet, many spots will show through.

It's very unlikely that your pup will develop a patch at his age. As he grows and his coat thickens, the spots may not be so visible.

Has he had his tail docked?

Oh yes, I see it now.

Has he lost a lot of coat recently?

Pups, at some point, shed their puppy coat and grow their adult one. That could be a reason why so many spots are showing through. His coat does look quite sparse.
