So many poor dog end up looking for new homes when the owner gets bored with it or realise just how much time you need to look after a dog properly. When my friends told me they were going to get a puppy all was going well until they told me that because they both worked during the day the dog would go to into dog care during the day 5 days a week from 7.30am - 6pm at a cost of ÂŁ65 per day plus they would have a dog walker for Saturdays/Sundays as the like to go out with friends.....so they are would only spend time with the pup for a couple of hours a week......outrageous. My response to them cannot be repeated on here but went a bit like " Are you crazy, don't have a dog unless one of you are at home, it' s cruel and have you got more money than sense" Why do people get dogs if they are not going to look after it them selves. I come across so many dog walkers and lot of them obviously do it for the easy money, at ÂŁ10-ÂŁ25 an hour per dog and some having up to 10 dogs at a time they are racking it in (not telling the taxman either). There should be a law about home many dogs a walker can have at any one time, lots of them have no control over their pack when something goes wrong. What is it with so many people getting dogs when they quite clearly don't want the responsibility of looking after them, is it a statement of some sort....I have had dogs in the past when I was at home looking after my children and I have a dog now which goes everywhere with me, I waited until I retired before getting him as I would not have a dog if I was not at home with it to train it, exercise and do all the things you need to do to have a happy healthy dog. Why can't people be more responsible if they decide to have one and put the poor dog first.. too many dogs looking for homes. .please don't add to these it's cruel
