People can have "glass hamster cages" for as long as there is ventilation. A lot of people use aquariums but that gets quite expensive, especially in the UK where tanks are more expensive than the US. Make sure that the tank fits the minimum cage requirements for a hamster in length, not height. Perhaps use a breeder or a -long tank,
