Chappie like hills science is a load of rubbish.

 

What do you recommend? . I thought hills science was highly recommended.should by the price anyway.

 

Chappie wet food is somehow magic.

I personally wouldn't feed the dry version to mine, I dont really like such vague ingredients lists - they can be potentially troublesome if you have a particularly sensitive dog as recipes are free to change batch to batch.
But it really comes down to personal preference and what suits you and your dogs.

Cereals (including 4% Whole Wheat), Meat and Animal Derivatives (15% including 4% Chicken), Oils and Fats, Derivatives of Vegetable Origin

 

Wet original Chappie is as Bluejay said magic, it's great for upset tums, but the dry food is questionable.

What do you want feed @Macs wet or dry or a combination if you look in the dog health and nutrition section there are stickys at the top with a dry food and wet food index with lots of info.

Dry food he's a labrador hell eat anything I give him chicken fish sometimes during the week to. Sometimes porridge . I had springer spaniel years ago before the knowledge of food and Internet he eat anything bred chocolate all kind of scrap she lived 14 years no health problems . Guess luck came in to that

 

Wainwrights from Pets at Home is not bad at all. I'm currently feeding Step up to Naturals grain free (also from Pets at home) - under £27 for 14kg with a decent level of protein.

Choose a food with a good rating (anything over 3.5 is worth a look)

Just avoid those that score lower. The highest scores tend to go to the high meat content foods. Which don't suit all dogs.

Be guided by your budget and dog.

 

Ps Hills is not highly rated on the site - scores 1.8!

Vet's kitchen is a decent kibble available sainsbury and tesco. And maybe other supermarkets too. And online of course.

 

Chappie wet food is a miracle food, Doesn't sound good on paper but it's a life saver. Chappie dry lives up to the rubbish it sounds on paper.

Step up to Naturals from Pets at Home seems a really good food, won't break the bank either. I feed it as treats to most of my walk dogs and it seems to agree with all of their digestive systems.

 

Chappie wet has been a saviour for some members’ dogs with tum and allergy issues so I wouldn’t dismiss it out of hand.

However, there are better foods available which should suit your dog/pocket.

My lurcher gets 50% of his ration from Vets Kitchen Chicken & Brown Rice (4.3 on Allaboutdogfood I think) and does well on it.

I liked the quality/price of P&H Step up to Naturals but it wasn’t quite right for him.

I have several walk dogs with tum issues and one with skin issues and it suits all of them in the small amounts I give it

 

Chappie was the only food we fed our Daxie which didn't cause his skin condition to flare up. He was always in great shape too, despite being greedy. A vet surgeon once said to us it is a very underrated food.
