Well it is a dark chilly evening and I would like nothing more than to light up my ( reproduction, coal effect gas ) open fire.
I never worried about the oldies getting near it, they seem pretty sensible, even though they have all had the odd visit up the chimney at some time or other.
However, Mitzy has literally thrown herself at it several times and so I am terrified about her or Milo hurting themselves. I suppose it must give out enough heat to act as a warning, but I am still scared.
I have had an internet search for fire guards and nothing completely suitable has presented itself yet.
Does anyone else have this dilemma?

but he still tries to climb the guard(not when the fire is on)and has been seen trying to remove it from the wall.:lol::lol:I'm considering changing it for an enclosed,glass fronted one.Not a good photo but shows the problem.
