Clare uses a kittening pen, mum cat and kittens all feel safe secure and happy, may be worth seeing if you could borrow one.
thats wat she is in at the moment......she is walking round the house with them in her mouth.she is taking them under my bed ,is it ok for the kitten to be there,if so i dont mind that but what happens to there poo and wee cause i dont want it all over my carpet?

Oh boy, do I know where you are coming from. My cats are pros at moving kittens....fix her a covered box ( I took a paper towel box (from the store) made a nice bed in it and placed it in my closet. Sure nuff....kitty moved her babies in there. Try and find a place like that ....nice and dark and secluded and let it be her idea to move them there. You will probably have to locate her in a bedroom with a closet door left open (box inside). Do not leave your bedframe under your mattress....she will almost certainly move her kittens there if she gets a chance. I had to remove my bed frame and put my mattress and box spring on the floor last week...I know it a pain but very necessary. Yes it can be the third day that they start moving unfortunately....sometimes they move the first day....depends on the cat. One of my queens actually bit her babies so bad while moving them that one died. She raised 4 out of 7. Two were just too tiny. She is due in June and I have my fingers crossed. One of my other mamas insisted that the closet was not good enough and moved her babies on top of the quilt box. I put them in a playpen....back up on the quilt box they went. I gave up, made them a bed up three and rolled sheets along the front to form an edge. I also placed blankets in front in case they fell. They are now 3 1/2 weeks old and are on the floor running around. By all means put her in a room where she cannot get out...preferebly by herself.

Can you put an old blanket under bed?
Dont worry bout kitten poo and wee, mum will clean them up, also most kittens readily use the litter tray instinctivley when they start tottering around.

as long as they are on a blanket you wont really have a mess, you dont see any wee/poo really until they start eating solids at around 3/4 weeks as mum cleans it all up:D i have left them under the bed for a while then moved to the cage in my room, which is a large indoor rabbit cage, like a giant hamster cage with a open top.

Some queens love to move their babies around so as not to let the enemy know where they are ... their scent gives them away you see so they cannot be allowed to let the scent build up. You and I cannot smell it but they can. As has been suggested, try making a new nest.

When Suki did this with her babies, I humoured her for a bit, changing all the bedding for fresh clean blankets in a different kitten bed in another secluded area. Just followed her with the kitten in her mouth and when she placed it - of course under a bed in a cold corner - I just lifted it up and put it in a prepared bed in a warmer area near a radiator in my bedroom.

Hope they are all doing well. :)
