Anyone tried Tails food?

I took the opportunity to subscribe to Tails free trial it was only £1 for 18 days of dog food which is supposed to be specially catered to my dog's needs (you answer questions about your dog and the nutritional value is supposed to meet their requirements). It seemed good because at the minute Aria does not like her Wainwrights we have tried dry kibble and wet trays but she's not bothered and this has good reviews on Trustpilot for dogs eating it all up. Also, it will only be £11 for 31 days of food after the trial.

Wondering if anyone here has tried Tails and has any opinions?

Coincidentally we just received our bag. It comes with an adjustable scooper and tells you how much your dog needs per day. We gave her the food and she ate it right up straight away! She usually leaves food until she's starving to death and then eats it to survive lol. Anyway I have voucher codes for anyone who wants to try the £1 free trial :)

I got the £1 to use as treats because well, I can't turn down a virtual freebie!

As for the food itself, it's very average and VERY gimmicky - it's not bespoke like they'll have you believe. They have set formulas and will choose the type best suited according to your tick-box answers, or mix two/a few up together. They're definitely not making a whole kibble recipe tailored to your dogs requirements.

I can certainly see the convenience of it and if it suits your dog, then great. But there are most certainly better quality foods out there for the money.

I have just had a delivery today, it cost me nothing, the food was free and delivery was free too, I got a months free trial, which is 11.4kg of food! It most definitely isn't tailor made specifically for your dog, that would be impossible, I only placed the order yesterday, and it arrived today, I'm pretty sure they haven't made a special kibble just for Luna in that space of time!:)

Luna doesn't really eat much kibble, perhaps a handful a day, she is mainly home cooked/raw fed, but, like SixStar, I couldn't pass up a freebie!:Shamefullyembarrased

I am waiting my second order, we have tried all sorts with Libby from Wainwrights normal and grain free, skinners, Applaws, Raw diet and Arden Grange Libby would for a few weeks then would turn nose up but she would never eat kibble on its own at all. But with the Tails she does, but enough is enough really from now on she eats what I put down or goes hungry I put her recommend portion down on a morning she generally eats half on morning after her walk and then will eat the rest later on about tea time. Our monthly price is £25.25

Thought I'd put down something about our trial... Got a bag worth 2 weeks food for £1 so thought I'd use it for training. Gave him as a full meal on a few occasions. As mentioned before - it is not actually tailored for each dog. The questionnaire simply picks one of the available "types" and that's what you get.
Axel is happy to eat it, but then again, Axel is happy to eat anything I hand him. He poos about 3 times more than on raw and about 2 times more than when eating Orijen, Acana or Millie's Wolfheart. They aren't sloppy poos, but I need to use 4-5 bags per walk instead of the usual maximum of 2. On top of that - he is hoovering up water. Normally Axel would take about 2-3 days to get through his water bowl, but now he gulps down a bowl a day and that has nothing to do with warm weather.... All in all - it's a good deal if you use kibble for treats but I wouldn't choose to order it as main food.

We have tried all sorts of good for Libby from high end to medium never bought supermarket stuff. Tried raw and she refused it. We tried forthglade meat she ate for a week. We have been on Tails for 3 weeks now, and she loves it - it's the only food she eats with out on it. My vet has looked into as well as said it's good. We go throu a bowl of water a day on a normal day more at the min as it's hot. She poos once a day and it's firm. Infact it's better than it was on Wainwrights and Arden grange. On wolfhearty stuff she was ill. But I suppose like humans dogs have different tastes too. It suits my furbaby she is happy so am I
