In 1981 I didn't have a clue about computers. I had two beautiful daughters and I knew that the computer age was coming. I knew my daughters would learn about computing at school. I decided to learn about computers myself, ready for the questions that my daughters would ultimately ask. I bought a ZX81 with just 1kb of memory (16kb when expanded). I got hooked. Since then Ii have used several machines including a Commadore 64, an AT/XT, a 386 and my current Dell.
What got you started in the wonderful world of computers?

I grew up with a BBC in the living room. Was programming it and the school computers as soon as I could write. We got our first IBM machine with Windows when I was in the Juniors. Had to wait until 2008 for my first laptop though.

When I started my industrial placement year in 2004, one of the company computers still used DOS and had a printer that took ribbons. I was the only undergraduate that knew how to use them both.

I've still got working a Saga Master system, a Sega Meda drive and a black and white Gameboy. I'm pretty sure I have Pac Man from the 70s or 80s stored at my parents'. That was my sisters' orginally though.

Natural progression, my clunky typewriter :D to a proper computer. It's just a box to me, the keyboard I like which is why I'll never get a laptop the keys feel strange to me cos they are way too flat
