I was feeding my chin, when i realised one of her hands were swollen pink with missing fur.

Background info: She does have a roommate, although they get along fine (2 months apart got them at the same time). There were no missing toes or blood.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Could it be her cage? Should i get her checked out immediately?

How high is the cage? Could she have fell and landed funny? Chinchilla have tiny bones, it wouldn't take much to break one of them. Other thought would be an abcess but you'd be able to see something like that. Have you gotten a picture?
