    Hi all

I have a 7 month puppy who, despite being wormed and fleaed monthly, keeps getting worms. I clean his poo up in the garden straight away because of the children. It is not a bad infestation, just one worm occasionally, normally after he has been dewormed is this normal?? Today he had one hanging out and I had to assist him to remove it! :eek:hmy: Its horrible. Any advice please!

Use a different wormer - I had a kitten that didn't respond to panacur but as soon as I used stronghold it sorted out the problem with 24 hours and not had a problem since. I now tend to alternate between them.

advocate only treats roundworms and some of the other less common ones - sounds like he needs treated for tapeworms - which advocate doesnt treat for. When choosing a wormer the most important ones you want to treat for are roundworm, tapeworm and lungworm.:)

    Hi all

Went to the vets this morning, and was advised to give him drontal plus.

Came home gave him the tablet and an hour later he had diarreahea, and then seemed fine for a couple of hours, but now he has just been sick.

Anyone know if this is a side effect from the drontal plus?

Advocate is a good wormer but no wormer covers everything.

I alternate between Drontal Plus and Advocate so more gets covered. [IMG]

advocate doesnt cover all worms that may be why we prescribe advocate and drontal therefore all worms are covered then, this may be why:)

I spoke to the vets, its just a coincidence, he had chicken and rice last night, and has not been sick or had diarreahea since so hopefully it was just a passing bug!!
