Can anyone think of any legitimate work from home/ online jobs that I could do for the time being? For the past three months I have been living with my Granny in Wales, and due to us being quite remote, me not speaking welsh and not driving, me getting a job is pretty impossible.

I have no income and I am beginning to feel pretty low because I want to save and I have no means.

Any ideas of ways I could earn some money (without spending hours doing surveys for a few pounds, unless that is genuinely the only way) would be much appreciated :)

    Hello stranger!
If you plan to live there for good:

    1. Learn to drive.
    2. Learn Welsh.

If not.... move where jobs are available.
Nice to see you back here...

My sister has just started work as a virtual assistant.

    Maybe something to look into?

I realise that. But even if you had craftwork etc.. in mind you will have to drive.

    Learning Welsh is probably free...
Maybe getting a bike is easier than a car?
Else ... blog? Writing novels online- friends of mine actually doing that!
But of course that is not a guaranteed income.

Thanks guys I will look at some of those.

I will be in Wales for the short term to help care and spend time with my granny.

Learning Welsh, well I hate learning languages, I spent 6 years learning Spanish and struggled the whole time. I want to learn to drive but with no money I cant afford insurance :(

I know there are jobs where you are basically part of a virtual call centre. So you have a code to log in to on your home landline then calls will be diverted to you from customers but it's not something I know much about. I presume you will also need a laptop/tablet to log in as well. I think the ones I have seen range from sales or customer service type roles … have a look on Total Jobs or Reed to see if you can see anything suitable.

If you care for your granny , you might be able to claim a carers allowance if you do things like help her wash and dress etc I dont know if its the same in Wales but you can claim £60 a week in England.

The problem with lots of working from home is that it requires skill - proofreading is often suggested but it’s rare for any publisher to touch someone who hasn’t had SfEP training or accreditation so what work comes up is low paid. There are also a few homeworking scams so never hand over money for tests. You could try asking for seasonal work at tourist sites and looking at your experiences to see if you have any transferable skills. But do check on benefit entitlement as a carer.

It's been suggested already but maybe some remote call centre work.
