    Hopefully I will be able to add more to this. I don't often walk around the lakes due to the amount of idiots. But today I just took Jack for an amble and because I know that soon the Red Crested Pochard and Mandarins should be around.

    Beautiful photographs!

    I've never seen a mallard with the brown tuft like that - the 10th and 12th pictures.

    I've recently found out that it is a genetic mutation that some Mallards can get. Most specifically they are bred like that and are normally only pet ducks so these may be escapees.

    Some people must like it obviously, but I'm not sure I like the mutation, give me a 'normal' mallard any day :yesnod:

    I just don't like birds - it's why I took the dog with me :p
