So in my tank we got some bogwood, soaked for a full week, placed in the tank about 3 month ago and yet the water still has like a tan colour, why!! Can I get something to get rid of the colour?? My filters fine replaced recently to a fluvel U2 which does a great job of keeping the 60l tank clear, just not colour free. Thankyouuu 4 any help.

  2. I had bogwood in my amazon tank, it leeched for a good few months.

I have been told - although i didnt test it to know if its true or not, that after soaking you should boil it and then soak again to bring out most of the tannin.

Oh and the water you soak it in should have a couple of drops of vinegar in it. You use plain water to boil it and then plain water for the final soak.

    Hope that helps.
