ok i think my cat is around ten years old not totally sure as she is a rescue cat, i have bought her various catnip toys in the past and she just isnt interested. I had a cat some years back who loved catnip, she was a persian cat with beautiful orange eyes. Any ideas why she doesnt seem interested in it ?

Cats are wierd fussy creatures. My two cats love dried catnip that i sprinkle on the floor but my moms cat wont be bothered. They also dont like cat grass in a flower pot tho i am tempted to try again.

I think some cat nip toys don't have much of a scent, my parents cats love fresh or dried catnip but have never reacted to catnip toys - I think they just aren't strong enough.

I love it when cats go wild from cat nip, they just so funny rolling round purring!

I have three cats and I act as catnip dealer to two of them who act like complete idiots to get to it but the third cat just looks at them like they have gone mad.

My 2 English cats absolutely loved catnip and so I used to grow it for them in the garden. When I had to prune it they would roll all over the cut off parts and looked like they'd died and gone to heaven! :p
My 2 Australian cats are not bothered by catnip in anyway - I've tried growing it for them, buying catnip toys and dried stuff. If anything they actually dislike it and back away from it. :(
