Bella is 4 1/2 months and has been fully house trained since she was around 11 weeks old. She had a bit of an accident a few nights ago...
I always send her out for toilet before I go to bed and she usually just has a wee and then she is fine for 8 - 9 hours but she did a poo indoors a few nights ago. She seemed ever so ashamed of herself so I didn't tell her off.

Now she seems unsettled at night and comes to me and whines. Of course worried she may have another accident I let her out, often she does nothing, just sniffs around and maybe does a drip of wee.
Last night I let her out FOUR times, she did a wee the first time but nothing the other three times. She had terrible smelly wind so I was worried she needed a poo and kept letting her out. Now I am afraid she will take advantage of me! How can I tell is she really wants to go out?? I'd rather not have another smelly poo on my carpet and I would love an undisturbed night's sleep!

Is it possible she found something in the garden a few nights ago, like a hedgehog and is spending too much time looking for it and forgetting to do what she should :)

Take her out on the lead so she cannot sniff around and enjoy herself. She will soon learn she is only out there too pee and wont ask to be let out unless she needs to go.

Yes, you are right there, the blackberries and apples are falling at the moment and Bella is ALWAYS thinking of her tummy!

I will try it with the lead, she understands when I saw 'wee' but doesn't understand 'poo' yet!

I only let her out once last night and there weren't any accidents, so fingers crossed!

    Thanks all :)

How did it go lastnight? I agree to try the lead, we have to do that with Sammy sometimes as he gets to preoccupied with something else x

She has been fine, I have let her out once in the night because she was moaning, I wasn't sure if she really needed to go out or if she just wanted to sleep on the bed with me, but I was scared of finding another poo on my carpet if I didn't take her out! I will try and keep her in all night tonight, I could do with a good night's sleep!
