don't foget what i paid was 7 years ago ! seriously though i really liked (and still like) their type, i went to lots of shows and liked what i saw, i was very lucky as breeder was near to me and i went to see the dam she was lovely and i felt really comfortable with her, saw pictures of sire lovely dog. When i got to meet him he was gorgeous, more importantly kitado are passionate about the breed and have given so much help and advice, these are the sort of people you should be looking at. Make sure they health test and when you meet the dogs you are happy with their temperment.

I've just read back your posts and you have been really undecided regarding which breed you are interested in and havent had much experience of dog, other than your aunty and uncle having them.

Im not saying an Akita isnt for you but I would think a little harder they are the not easiest of breeds to own and with only a small amount of dog experience some people struggle.

    They need lots of research.

To buy from a decent breeder wont charge much less than a £1000 per pup. Anything you see advertised for £250 I would be very very carefull. Its unlikely to be KC reg and have been bred well and socialised. A HUGE problem waiting to happen.

I would think very hard about getting an Akita and if you definitely decide to go for one, only buy one from a reputable and ethical kennel. Basically avoid anything you see in the Puppy Sales websites and go direct to a good breeder. Contact the Akita Breed Clubs for advice.
Secondly, I would strongly suggest getting a female rather than a male. Akitas are well known for same-sex aggression and this would put your new staffy puppy at risk.
