Discovered a new one this year, unfortunately the season is very short.
Baby patty-pan squash... steamed and served with a dob of butter and black pepper. Delish!
Now i can't wait til next September to have them again.

I'm not a fan of most vegetables on their own as they are pretty bland but....

I make a super vegetable chili (courgettes, pepper, aubergine, corn etc plus lentils, beans etc) which is lush.

Butternut squash, carrot and swede, broccoli, red cabbage, white cabbage and peas as part of a roast.

    Aubergine parmigiana

    Freshly made vegetable soup.

Carrots and peppers to dip in my freshly made salsa and guacamole.

Funny that cos my wife calls it trees too.

    I call her childish.

She calls me something terrible in Finnish and then proceeds to attack me with a hunting knife. :001_rolleyes:

    So trees it is then

I'm quite partial to a raw potato and a few bits of raw turnip! When I was little and mum would be peeling the veg, I'd always be standing there waiting patiently for some bits to munch on :D
