    I'm selling my new phone...cause im far to in love with my old one!

    So I advertised it and a local website, received this email (have edited out personal details)

    Hi there Sarah, you have received a reply to your posting "Nokia 5230 " (ad# 78085952) from Gahwu <g**********s@yahoo.co.uk>, telephone number 070********** (Mobile):
    what is the last price for this item?

    i don't have paypal but my husband does but he says it sounds dodgy

    dont do it! we lost two phones due to similar things like that

    He's offering you more than you asked!!!
    Avoid like the plague, no one does that, unless it's a scam.

    it was! they said they would give us 700 for both as they were brand new phones (wanted upgrades) and they never sent the money after we posted the phones, safe to say we quickly learnt our lesson

    Possibly Scam.. Ive had loads of them messages when i have sold things in the past.. Blumin murder...

    Its a scam hun , just ignore it
    phone sellers on ebay get those kind of bids/emails all the time

    I have a nokia 5230 , I love mine :)

    dont do it. my gut instinct is that it is dodgy. why pay so much extra even if it is going abroad? something dodgy happened a few yrs ago when my brother tried to sell his PSP on ebay. someone offered him more money to send it abroad but he discovered was a scam....wish I could remember more details, sorry.

    It is a scam.:mad:
    If you google ebay phone scams you will see how often this crops up.
    Whenever things like this occur it's always best to look deep into it first,as the saying goes"if it looks to good to be true then it probably is"

    when selling something and paypal is used as a way of payment...the seller would first send a paypal invoice (which you do by logging onto your paypal account)to the buyer and not until the buyer has paid the money into your paypal account would the seller send the item they are selling...
