This Choisya hasn't been pruned properly over the years so although a lovely shape it is just too big for where it is sited. It is very healthy and flowers well so I'm a bit reluctant to get rid of it all together. Do you think it could be pruned hard? Would it grow new shoots on the bare stems?

    It should do.

I'd be inclined to prune back the ones in the centre and see what happens :)

It should be pruned in Spring, after flowering, but as there is foliage on the outside any new growth now should be protected. Then in Spring cut back the outside branches?

Thank you, I'll give that a go.
