I think these things are to put threads over the net for when people are searching. That way they can be directed to Pet Forums.

Hi,

All Search engines like google, yahoo, ask, msn etc.. have what are called spiders, these spiders are automated scripts which continuously troll through the internet, visiting websites and then visiting all links on each website. When they come across a webpage that isnt in their search engine index, they add it to their index.

If you had a website where no other websites linked to it, the search engine spiders would never find your site, therefore they wouldnt be able to add you to their index.

The spiders are continously visiting all the new posts and threads on the forum so that they can add these pages to their index. So if you search for a term in google or yahoo that matches a thread on here, it will be returned in their results.

Hope that makes sense.
Mark
