    swede or turnip?


    ETA now i know they're two separate vegetables, who knew?

    so what do you call this:

    because i call it a swede but my step dad and my nan call it a turnip

    and obviously other people call it different things

    this needs a picture please.

    A turnip is a turnip......white with a greenish top and quite small.

    A swede is much bigger and a red/orange colour.

    I am English living in northern scotland and roundabout here its called a neep.

    They are two different types of turnipy type of veg are they not? Ones white ones yellow inside

    I thought they were totally different veg :confused: Swedes have orange/yellow flesh, turnips are white

    Swedes are Scandinavian in origin & turnips are a form of currency favoured by Baldric in Blackadder the Third

    They are I think..but I would still call a swede a turnip :lol:

    Turnip I'm from stoke on Trent originally now life in coventry where they call them Swedes but to me they are still turnips and I still.call them that lol x. Seems north turnip south Swede not sure about east and west .
