    family pets while growing up...

    Lab X collie

    King charles spaniel (not cavalier)

Small black mixed breed (terrier sized, short coated, no idea what any of his parent's were)

Giant black cross breed ( again no idea what he was, but given his size possibly some great dane in there)

    Ones that have been mine...

Lab x something (lab sized and very labradorish so no guesses at what his dad was)

Large black mixed breed (we were told collie cross at the pound, but he ended up more like a large lurcher)

    Springer cross JRT

    Rottweiler (current one)

we have a farm so always kept JRTS for vermin and mini dachshunds as pets who thought they could despatch the odd rat or 2.lol

We were given a GSD X Akita and kept him outside as a guard dog. Had a couple of border collies for sheep.

Have now 1 bullmastiff, 1 saluki x greyhound and a mini dakkie, sadly, other mini dakkie died on Friday .

    Growing up:

    mongrel
    border collies
    long-haired standard dachshunds

Once I got my own place and could do as I liked, so there!

    staffies (favourites)
westies and yorkies (joint second - I'm just a terrier gal at heart)
great dane (never again! he's lovely - could never part with him, but we're drowning here! The whole house is laminated with drool!!!!!)

    What I'm after now
    another westie/yorkie/cairn

And/or whippet (they are so beautiful - I love their snakey heads) - it's a breed I've always fancied but they are quite hard to get hold of. At the moment a new addition is an impossibility, as Loki (the dane) would squash or inhale and puppy that came into the house - he's still young, daft and clumsy - need him to calm down a bit - maybe in a couple of years)

Always had a multi-dog household, so like the OP, seem to have gone through a lot of dogs in my life.

    When I was a child/at home we didn't have a dog.

When I was 26 and could afford one and had a house I got Ringo - a terrier x and my boyfriend has Rosie, a German Shepherd but they're both "ours" now (his family have had 1 shepherd and 1 standard schnauzer as long as he can remember).

Now I'm considering dog number 3, but we're just going to get one from a rescue that fits in with the two we have.

    sneaks into dog chat

We've had a golden lab, a collie x lab, westie, and a golden retriever in my family.

My grandparents bred bulldogs and they still have a very special place in my heart as a breed
