As the title says, which 3 cat breeds are your favourites (excluding any peds you own)?

    Mine are:

    1) Maine Coon (particularly the infamous reds!!)
    2) Russian Blue
    3) Ragdoll (blues and lilacs, specifically :D )

I hope to own each of these at some point during my lifetime, and would happily catnap a few Cat Chat cats :aureola:

What are your dream kitties? :)

I love Maine Coons (Inka is half Maine Coon, Her Mum is pedigreed and I saw her papers the lady I bought her from claimed dad is also a Maine Coon but didn't see him, I didn't pay for her so not fussed, friend of a friend was looking for homes for an accidental litter)

So I would love a proper pedigreed Maine Coon, a RagaMuffin and a Silver Tabby BSH but I have no chance as my husband isn't a cat person and it took me 11 years to talk him into Inka.

Ooh, there's a nice mix of breeds cropping up here- very interesting! :)

I notice a couple of you have mentioned Singapuras, too, aren't they fascinating? I saw one at the Manchester cat show, and she was a cat like no other, so tiny with the most mesmerising eyes!

    1. Moggy
    2. Moggy
    3. Maine Coon

I couldn't possibly ever justify paying out for a pedigree when my local rescue centre has over 100 cats looking for a home :(. However I can fully see why some do! :D
I'd take them all on if I had room!!

I thought about your boys when I was writing it, you are SO lucky!! :001_tt1:

I know what you mean, but sometimes it's good to treat yourself (or do what I did and rescue a ped :p). Surely, you have favourites, even if you don't have a desire to own them :D

    1.Maine Coon
    2.Ragdoll
    3.Siberian
    4.Persian - whoops!

or a mix of the above. I want a big fluffy soppy cuddly cat with lots of personality and laid back enough to want to play with my tiny dogs. But big enough to tell them who's boss. In the kennels on the ferry, when we were bringing our pup home. there was a huge kitten demanding attention. Even my cat-indifferent OH was taken with it. I confidently informed him that it was probably only about 4 months but a Maine Coon. Half right! Turned out to be a 4 month Siberian.

As expected, the magnificent MCs are featuring quite heavily in your responses. I'm totally in love with the breed! :001_wub:

I notice Siamese cropping up, too, and I have to say that if you're up for a vocal, loyal feline friend I completely recommend them. Spooks has more character than any cat I've ever known, he's bonkers!

i have no idea which i would choose. i love them all:D
    maybe:
    ragdoll
    maine coone
    norwegian forest cat
    but not sure which order.

i'm afraid in my house the cats choose me. they have all turned up in one way or another - 2 dumped in a box by my car, 2 being kicked around in a box by kids, tabitha was dumped in a box with her kittens and was pregnant again. it just goes on and on...
i don't think i'll ever get to choose my own cat - they simply turn up at my house:)
