So in an exercise that would probably disgust the vegetarian members of the forum. I have been cooking a whole pig today for a hog roast.

But the weirdest thing was that one of my cats jumped into the back of the van, ripped open a pack of baps and proceeded to munch on wholemeal bread.

    Is that normal??

The roast sounds good! As for the baps, well cats can be pretty weird. Sasha can't be left alone with yogurt, cheese or peanut butter as he would scoff the lot in a blink. Spike liked cauliflower cheese and carbonara and was known to steal chips off your plate if you weren't looking, each to their own I say, a nibble here an there won't do any harm. Just don't encourage it, cats get strange ideas and know how to manipulate us into going with it when they get fussy about food.

My old cat Ebby used to love peas! I think it was the way they roll when dropped off a fork - she couldn't resist chasing them!

Now I have a one-year-old daughter who loves eating paper, tinsel, leaves, grass and sand, but that's another issue entirely...

My old Kitty used to do the same...I could not safely leave bread within her reach or she'd rip the whole loaf to shreds. Weird...I used to wonder what she would do if I had put in in her dish at dinner-time...probably stared at me in disgust.

Yes, both those...I now give one of mine the pot to lick out before it's recycled. Any flavour will do.

Oh, and cheese, porridge, batter and ice-cream...

    Oblivate carnivore my arse....

Phoebe once munched on muffins I baked. Other than that she's never been intrrested in things like bread. Her things are salad leaves- spinach is "the thing" right now.
We once had friends cat at ours for a couple of days and she went mad for pancakes :D

I would never leave bread out here, or anything else for that matter, Rodney has been known to steal a roll & have a good munch.

Libby insists on trying all human food, if it's on our plate then Libby must have a sniff, if acceptable to her then she must be given a little! She almost has her own seat at the dining table!
Butter is her absolute favourite and would kill for it I'm sure!

Coco likes bread too, and doughnuts  I've caught her stealing bread that I've left on the side to thaw. She loves tiger bread the best

Once I'd evicted him from the van and removed the chomped bap, he wasn't interested in it.

    Picky so and so.

God, yes, you can always tell as there is a little dent licked into the block...like a little ski-slope! And sometimes (added bonus) a few hairs.

Bronns favourite human food to steal is crumpets, so completely normal in my book!

We've had a few bitter incidents here too, all involving Rodney, I caught him licking the butter dish a few days ago

Bronn knows how to remove the lid on our butter dish, he also knows how to open the kitchen cupboards. I occasionally use it ans think "they're weird knife marks" then the penny drops! He managed to get a whole block once, the after effects were not at all pleasant.

Argie will open the fridge to steal rocket & occasionally spinach. No other human food is touched in ours
