Any suggestions? Both me and the OH are more metal/rock in our music tastes but we need something a bit more mellow for our first dance. I hate anything with violins in it to dance to, it just feels way too corny. Suggest away!

Don't some of your bands have a nice ballad or two on their albums? Nearly every rock band that I have been into over the years have managed a sloppy song or two.

If you want something not too 'in yer face' you've got Bon Jovi or Bryan Adams that you can pick from and they are still classed as rock so you wouldn't be 'selling out' so to speak. :)

We had 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol as it wasn't tooooooooo mushy but the lyrics were absolutely spot on. :D

Maybe something like "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith would be more to you and your OH's tastes???

I'm into rock/metal/nu-metal/industrial (mostly industrial), and I don't really like Metallica (they are OK) but I've always thought this was a really nice one? - "The Unforgiven 2" by Metallica

But Bon Jovi is so... Cliché! And, not everyone who listens to rock likes them (I know I think they/he is as boring as hell! I barely consider it rock! But I'm into heavier stuff.)

Are you not having a ceilidh?(noticed you live in Scotland) i was at my cousins wedding last year and the ceilidh band were fantastic....my grandfather was legendary with an accordion, sadly he died in 2000 but that night it was so easy to imagine he was still alive and doing what he loved best(he always used to play at weddings, pubs etc) the guy was amazing and his brother was a great singer....i have no idea what the first dance was some scottish tune.

I know where your coming from my OH and i are more into the not weddingy type music but we'll probably be having a ceilidh(when we eventually get roud to marrying each other that is) as i love scottish country dancing!!! Just hope the OH gets some lessons before the wedding :tongue_smilie:

I hope whatever you pick suits both of you and you have a lovely day :)
