my husband and i whilst holidaying in ireland came across a heavily pregnant, labrador x terrier, abandoned and starving. Me being me couldnt leave her and took her back to my husbands aunts house who lives in ireland. we enquired at the 'pound' and discovered if she couldnt be rehomed she would be put to sleep in a week.
so we decided to bring her back, booked her on a plane... then the day we came home without her, she gave birth to 8 pups.

anyway we are going over this wkend to collect them all and will rehome them here and keep mum.

i would like to know if anyone can suggest a worming routine for these guys and what is best to give them, also a rough cost on how much your vets charge would be good, to give me an idea.

please be nice, i have never done this before and just couldnt leave her out in the cold.

    many thanks

well done you xxx hope everything goes well, we worm our pups at 3,5,7 weeks, always remember to worm the mum too but we leave a few day in between worming pups and mum, we have used pancacur for ours which we got for just under 6 pounds, although needed 2 tubes, its easy to give as its a paste and comes with a ring you turn to give exact dose, your vet will be able to give you more info for them as it goes on weight.
We bought our wormer from a large pet food outlet however you had to sign for it with all your details, they were cheaper than the vets, you can also get it online i think.

Why would anyone not be nice to you, you have just done a very loving thing for this poor little dog her brood of pups. Hope all goes well for bringing her over from Ireland, and that she settlesin well with you.

    take care
    Sarah

thanks so much for the help guys, im sure she will settle in really well, she has such a good temperment for a stray, and she attached herself to me when we were there so i have a lot of hope for her.

Im amazed all 8 pups survived and none of them seem to be 'runty' according to the family looking after her.

i will post some pics upwhen we get them so you can help me identify what they might be mixed with!!

    thanks again
