After a highly stressful 24 hours for everybody, I am now lying on my bed at my mum and dad's house with Simba snoozing on a blanket next to me, and Tiny hidden under the bed. I'm so proud of my boys, they hadn't been further than Dumbarton to glasgow in all their lives and the journey yesterday ended up being ten hours long. Simba cried at first but settled down and started looking out of the window at Eddie Stobart lorries, and Tiny eventually went to sleep. The problems only really started when we came off the motorway and started driving on twisty country roads, when Tiny woke up and started a low, ominous caterwauling ("Mum. Mum! Let me out! I'm going to be sick!") and he threw up. And then, a few streets from home, Simba sprayed my friend while he was driving, so he was covered with wee, as was his truck :( They're settling in well here, though, eating, drinking and using the litter tray.

Simba has endeared himself to my dad by squeezing into the tiny space under the dresser in the dining room and gliding out on his back like a synchronised swimmer. My dad called him a "silly little cat", in a very affectionate tone. Simba escaped out of the front door this morning, my friend grabbed him suddenly, and Simba hissed at him and scratched him badly. They've got a lot of making up to do. But on the whole, I think they'll be happy here, they've gone from living in a one-bedroomed flat to having a three-bedroomed house. So, phew! Hopefully now normal ER service can resume...

Oh dear glad to hear you arrived relatively unscathed and the cats are still friends with you! Hope they settle down to being southerners soon!

Thank you! A very smart local tabby and white chap called Jethro actually came to call for them not long after they arrived, but nobody was in a fit state to receive visitors at that point...

So glad you've all arrived safe and sound  and what would a long journey be like without someone being sick and someone peeing all over the driver
It sounds as if they won't take long to settle into their new environment :)
