I am SO proud of Sky :D We took her onto the beach today (well the OH did while I ate an ice cream on the pier) and we managed to walk her off the lead all the way down the pier. It may not sound that amazing but it's the summer holidays so there are kids and dogs everywhere. Usually we would have to keep calling Sky back and putting her on her lead. Not because she's nasty but because she's easily distracted when she sees birds/dogs/kids with footballs.

Well she didn't do any of that today. She was perfect and didn't need to be corrected once.

She's also started barking at Candy. Not nastily but when they're playing. This is a MAJOR break through! Her bark is terrifying though, very deep like a male GSDs.

I feel like I've really turned a corner with her. All my hard work is starting to pay off :yesnod:

Edit: And today she is 9 months! :D

Wow - glad you had a good walk and all the love and training has paid off.

I don't think mine would stick so close to me, where we walk off lead it is mainly open so they tend to wonder a bit :)

    Thanks!

Sky follows Candy so we trained her through Candy. We would call Candy back and Sky would follow her then after a while we started calling her name. She doesn't tend to go far though she likes to herd us lol :D

    Thanks :D

I haven't quite mastered heel yet. I will have to work with her on this individually. Candy walks to heel (whatever side or behind you) but Sky would become too distracted with her around.

Bubba? Have you seen how big she is? She doesn't bark like a bubba either :yikes: :D

Haha well I wouldn't call her well trained yet ;) but she is getting there :yesnod: We also managed to teach her to give both paws (I only taught her to give one the first time round). We went to Aberavon beach, it's right behind my house :)
