Im in need of some waterproof trousers seen as the rain has made an ugly return. :(

I do have some at the mo but they are far too big and not very comfortable.

I would like the softer fabric ones that are proper trousers and not the things you slip on over the top.

    Does anyone have any recommendations??

I hate getting wet doggie walking!

    Thanks! :)

Will be watching this thread with interest. After getting soaked today, I am also in need of some waterproofs!

They are over-trousers, as opposed to wear-alone trousers, but I have the Dickies original green workwear ones and they're brilliant - a lovely soft material, not that horrible plasticy noisy stuff! Excellent at keeping you dry, they're breathable, and provide additional heat without being too hot.

I have some that could be worn on their own, but are really overtrousers. I second Sixstar on the Dickies ones too.

Why do you want wear alone ones and not overtrousers.

Paramo are soft so no annoying noise and can be worn next to the skin.

I have some by Peter Storm. They are lined and can be worn on their own.

I've got several wet weather suits (it's judging outside in all conditions)...LOL

I've had several from golf shops but my favourite suit at the moment was also the cheapest - Trespass.

...or over normal trousers. Very waterproof, quiet and comfortable, and with long side zips they are easy to get on or off over boots.

Crag hoppers I love their winter walking trousers, although its a bit warm for them here. I'm sure they do lighter weight ones.

You get great prices on them in the sale.

Thanks all I will have a look at all of them.

I prefer the proper trousers cuz I get too hot and feel like a sack of spuds with layers. (silly I know but I hate the walking in the rain so I want to make it as bearable as possible  )
