Just in case anyone on here is on vodafone and from the amount of calls we've had the media is turning it into the usual hysteria.

A few people's accounts were accessed but we have already contacted or tried to contact them. No credit card details are stored on the system and no one can get into the accounts without going through security.

Any concerns call 191 from 8 tomorrow morning.
Sincerely customer service employee who has been dealing with the backlash for the last few hours

I thought the Vodafone attack was via phishing techniques?

Undoubtly not as widespread as the TalkTalk one which was via sql injection so far more wide reaching though I imagine if they can access accounts via the users details then they would have enough info for fraud at least, sort codes, last few digits of cards, birthdays, addresses, etc.

The plus side at least with Vodafone, is that people's bank accounts will be safe, though they may try more phishing attempts with this new info.

Which are only supposed to be backup security anyway, there's pin numbers which we don't even have access to in full and passwords. The pin numbers are preferable of course.
