I can't believe this. The company that I'm doing home work for received a dodgy email and I stupidly clicked on it. I have now had to completely wipe my computer and reinstall Windows.

I'm so cross, as another company I was doing home work for are expecting a document, that I spent 3 days working on, and stupidly saved to my desktop. It's all gone now :Arghh

Did you click on just the email or a link inside the email?

B@stards that send these things aren't they?

Oh god that's terrible! I hate losing my work! Did you get it done yourself or did you also have to pay for it to be fixed?
Hope it won't take too long for you to get it done again... Will it be easier now, since it's the second time you're writing it?

Back up every time to a SD card and put the SD card in another room far away from the computer in future. Or a memory stick.

Bad luck though, as above hopefully it'll take a lot less time doing your work second time round.

I keep asking Microsoft how the anti virus failed, but they keep changing the subject.

I'm going to ask for an extension and work like the clappers all weekend

It might not be lost. When a computer overwrites files it simply marks that space as being available as "free" but the files are still there on the hard drive. Google "retrieve deleted files" and download free software that will show you, and retrieve, what deleted files are recoverable. It's a long shot if you did a complete reinstall but with a go

    That's a wounder, I feel for you.

We have a mantra in this house for my other half "do not click on ANYTHING".

Seems to work. Hope you can get your work done ok.

Work dull...I don't believe it...it's going to make you a multimillionaire by this time next year...or if not at least a proud owner of another dog and someone who isn't lazy and washes their hair more often than you do now!!!

Hahaha! This isn't for my company. I'm doing ad hoc work for a couple of Virtual assistant companies, as my company has earned a grand total of £2k in 6 months. I was very excited to earn £95 last month through typing work

Ahhh we can be paupers together with me in the worse job ever that you have to be 100% fit to go to work..and I haven't been 10% and only just started so no decent sick pay till being there a year...OH even threatened Tesco value dog food for the dogs...till I told him it's false economy and it would cost more..did the figures for him...not to mention the poo bags I would need extra!

Just think of your millionaire status next year!!!
